AMK
DS-72 ARGON ION SCANNER FILM |
|
DESCRIPTION |
 |
AMK
DS-72 is a high speed, high contrast
blue sensitive scanner film that is
designed especially to produce high
quality negatives or positive when used
on imagesetters, recorders and scanners
equipped with Argon Ion laser emitting
at 488 nanometers. It can be used for
the production of color separations,
halftone reproduction, as well as line
art and text works. DS-72 has outstanding
dot sharpness that has never been obtained
before when processed in AMK chemistries.
Nevertheless, DS-72 can be processed
with most of the Rapid Access chemistries
available in the market. AMK DS-72 has
been coated on 0,10mm. optically clear,
permanently anti-static polyester base
to reduce dust and pinholes. |

EXPOSURE |
 |
| Since exposure varies
from shop to shop and from output device
to output device, it is strongly recommended
to use the procedure recommended by
the equipment manufacturer and that
a series of test exposures are made
at different intensities. |

DOT
ETCHING |
 |
| DS-72 film is etchable
with commercially available dot etch
solutions. If you mix accurately and
use according to manufacturers’ instructions,
AMK DS-72 accommodates a maximum dot
reduction without loss of density. |
|
 |
|
SAFELIGHT |
 |
It is necessary that
the DS-72 is handled under one of the
safelights indicated below until it
has been developed.
> Encapsulite A5 / N.D. 4 or equivalent
> Most yellow and orange safelights.
(*) Keep the film at least 1,5 meters
away from the safelight and do not expose
the film to safelight illumination for
more than a minute. |
|
 |
|
DIMENSIONAL
STABILITY |
 |
| Although the DS-72 gives
the maximum dimensional stability obtainable,
any film will change size slightly in
extreme atmospheric conditions. In general,
extreme heat will cause an increase
in size and extreme cold will cause
a decrease in size. In this respect,
please refer to storage recommendations
for optimum results. |
|
 |
|
PACKAGING |
 |
| AMK DS-72 film is available
in all standard roll and sheet sizes
and packaging that comply with the need
of all internal drum, external drum
and capstan imagesetting, recording,
and scanning systems in the market.
|
|
 |
|
STORAGE |
 |
| It is highly recommended
that the AMK DS-72 is stored in its
light safe original packaging in cool
and dry place, preferably below 21ºC
and 55% relative humidity. |
