AMK DS-IR INFRARED IMAGESETTING FILM
DESCRIPTION
click to enlarge ...AMK DS-IR is a high sensitive, high contrast infrared sensitive graphic arts film that is designed for use on imagesetters, recorders and scanners equipped with Infrared Laser Diode emitting at 780 nanometers. DS-IR has outstanding dot sharpness and easily controllable etchability. Moreover, half-tone dots are extremely accurate, line edges are very sharp, thus enabling faithfully reproduced details. DS-IR can be processed with most of the Rapid Access chemistries available in the market. AMK DS-IR has been coated on 0,10mm. optically clear, permanently anti-static polyester base to reduce dust and pinholes.
FEATURES
> Extremely wide exposure latitude
> Excellent image quality
> High image density
> Outstanding dot sharpness
> Excellent contrast
> High speed
> Permanently anti-static polyester base
> Compatibility with most Rapid Access chemistries.
 COLOR SENSITIVITY  IMAGESETTER EXPOSURE
EXPOSURE
Since exposure varies from shop to shop and from output device to output device, it is strongly recommended to use the procedure recommended by the equipment manufacturer and that a series of test exposures are made at different intensities.
RECOMMENDED RAPID ACCESS PROCESSING
AMK REPRODEV Developer at 35ºC for an approximate development time of 30 sec.
RECOMMENDED REPLENISHMENT CONDITION
Developer
AMK REPRODEV Percent Exposed Tank Turnover
250ml./m² 20% At least once a week.
300ml./m² 50% At least once a week.
350ml./m² 80% At least once a week.
Fixer
AMK REPRODEV Percent Exposed Suggestion
300ml./m² 0-100% Fixer temperature 32ºC
SAFELIGHT
It is necessary that the DS-IR is handled under one of the dark green safelights indicated below until it has been developed.

> Wratten No. 7 filter.
> Encapsulite T20 / N.D. 75 or equivalent.

(*) Keep the film at least 1,5 meters away from the safelight and do not expose the film to safelight illumination for more than a minute.
DIMENSIONAL STABILITY
Although the DS-IR gives the maximum dimensional stability obtainable, any film will change size slightly in extreme atmospheric conditions. In general, extreme heat will cause an increase in size and extreme cold will cause a decrease in size. In this respect, please refer to storage recommendations for optimum results.
PACKAGING
AMK DS-IR film is available in all standard roll and cassette sizes and packaging that comply with the need of all internal drum, external drum and capstan imagesetting, recording, and scanning systems in the market.
STORAGE
It is highly recommended that the AMK DS-IR is stored in its light safe original packaging in cool and dry place, preferably below 21ºC and 55% relative humidity.
